Weekend Writing Warriors- The first August post!!! (Though I’m actually posting in July.) #Esperanza

What’s new friends??  I set a new goal for myself for the month and that is going to be to get this story wrapped up and published.  Fingers crossed that my brain works with me, huh?

Anyhow, welcome back to my fabulous web page.  A place where writers come to converse with one another and I use as my magical doorway to step into my writing friends imaginary worlds for WEEKEND WRITING WARRIORS!  (Did you read that with a wrestling announcers voice?  That’s what I was going for.)

Wondering who we are?  I’m glad you asked.

~We are a fabulous group of individuals that posts 8-10 sentences on their blogs from a published or unpublished book. Then we “hop” around and leave comments on each other’s snippets.  We welcome EVERYONE’s comments.~

Here’s my bit, let me know what you think.  😉   (This one’s not out yet, still plugging away at it.)

I tried my best to make out what Favian was saying, as he and Sebastian argued in the distance, glancing back as Gabrielle took a seat inside the house as she sat with Liliana and nodded at my sister so that she would keep an eye on her.  Liliana shook her head but then motioned for me to go, obviously upset with my need to put myself in an awkward position.

I turned and scaled the bricks of the house, walking as close to the front as I could without being seen.

“Who does she think she is?”  I heard Favian scream.  “She’s not leaving Colombia with without a fight.  Especially not with my baby, you can tell her I said that.”

“Your baby?”  Sebastian questioned him calmly.  “Where were you for the last year while my parents were raising her?  Do you even know what your baby’s name is?”

Sounds like confrontation that might escalate, perhaps into violence.

This is obviously going to be a very heated exchange, I wonder how she will feel after eavesdropping.
I was a bit confused by your use of “scaled the bricks of the house, walking as close to the front”, was she climbing on the bricks?
    Great tension building.

  3. I agree with Ed and Chelle. A real fight is about to explode and scaling? Hmm. Good scene, Neva.

  4. Let’s hope Sebastian keeps his cool. A lovely, messy situation as always!

  5. Oh boy, this is quite the scene that’s building! Sounds like maybe some portion of the truth will come out…dramatic snippet today for sure.
