Weekend Writing Warriors #8SUNDAY

Ok guys!  Let me explain the late responses last week!  I was in EMD training for three days followed by a test!!!  Eek!!!  Hoping I passed.  I don’t find out for a while.  It’s on a scan-tron and has to be graded by the proper authorities.  That training completely wiped me out.  First off, I had to drive far away for it during rush hour traffic, that in itself was a nightmare!!!  Second, I’m not used to sitting in a classroom for eight hours a day anymore!  Ugh!!!

Anyhow, welcome back to my fabulous web page.  A place where writers come to converse with one another and I use as my magical doorway to step into my writing friends imaginary worlds for WEEKEND WRITING WARRIORS!  (Did you read that with a wrestling announcers voice?  That’s what I was going for.)

Wondering who we are?  I’m glad you asked.

~We are a fabulous group of individuals that posts 8-10 sentences on their blogs from a published or unpublished book. Then we “hop” around and leave comments on each other’s snippets.  We welcome EVERYONE’s comments.~

Here’s my bit, let me know what you think.  😉   (This one’s not out yet, still plugging away at it.)

“Of course I know what my baby’s name is.”  Favian fired back from the top of his lungs.  “It’s Adriana!”

I peeked around the corner just in time to see the guards step toward Favian to shut him up.  Favian stood there before them looking a mess.  His body looked as if it had deteriorated, he was so skinny that his face bore the early signs of aging, craters implanted to the sides of his cheeks and it looked as though he hadn’t slept in days.

“How did you find that out?”  Sebastian asked quietly, he had always been good at keeping his cool.  “Did you see her name on the paperwork my sister sent?”

I resisted the temptation to confront Favian, stepping closer and closer at the side of the bushes to get a better view of the two of them arguing.

I may have missed something in an earlier post but I am real curious, did she send him word about Arianna or did he find out on his own. Does she know her own heart? Great attention grabbing snippet.

    • Hi! It wasn’t in a previous snippet, his showing up is a surprise to Esperanza, no one had seen him in quite a while. 😦 He’s not a good guy and Esperanza is about to take Adrianna back to the US, so she’s worried that he will be able to stop her. 🙂

  2. Well written and so scary. Your description of Favian made me shiver and fear for the little family.

  3. Tense scene going on, glad Sebastian can keep his cool or things would really be getting worse fast. Good luck on those EMD training test results!

  6. Sounds like he has an addiction. Very intense scene, Neva.

Kudos for taking the classes. I’m sure you did well on the test. You work hard. And you’re smart. 🙂
