Hi everyone! I’ve managed to move that rock that I’ve been hiding under. 🙂 Glad to be back on Weekend Writing Warriors for the first week in a very long time. This is a new piece I’m writing, which is based on a true story. The names of the characters have been changed. I hope that you enjoy it!

It started when my friend asked me to come with her to meet a guy that she had just met. Sarai had known David for about a week and didn’t want to go to his house alone. I told her that I was tired, but she really wanted to see him. In the short time she’d known him he had already won her heart.
It was Friday the 13th and it had already been a long and very disappointing night. We had just returned home from a club with some of our other friends and had literally danced for the past four hours. To make matters worse I had met up with a guy that I had been chatting online with for the last two months for the first time and it definitely hadn’t gone as expected. When I reluctantly agreed to go, Sarai literally jumped for joy. Her reaction was priceless and it gave me the energy that I needed to make it through the next few hours of the night.

Glad to see you back, Neva.. Your heroine’s reluctance provides a nice pinch of tension to this scene.

Since it’s Friday the 13th, I’m a little worried about this guy. o.O You might want to cut one of those uses of “literally,” though–they feel a bit close together.
