Hi everyone!  I’ve managed to move that rock that I’ve been hiding under.  🙂  Glad to be back on Weekend Writing Warriors for the first week in a very long time.  This is a new piece I’m writing, which is based on a true story.   The names of the characters have been changed.  I hope that you enjoy it!

It started when my friend asked me to come with her to meet a guy that she had just met.  Sarai had known David for about a week and didn’t want to go to his house alone.  I told her that I was tired, but she really wanted to see him.  In the short time she’d known him he had already won her heart.

It was Friday the 13^th and it had already been a long and very disappointing night.  We had just returned home from a club with some of our other friends and had literally danced for the past four hours.  To make matters worse I had met up with a guy that I had been chatting online with for the last two months for the first time and it definitely hadn’t gone as expected.  When I reluctantly agreed to go, Sarai literally jumped for joy.  Her reaction was priceless and it gave me the energy that I needed to make it through the next few hours of the night.
