Hello friends, posting early as to avoid the catastrophe with my post not posting like last week. Anyhow, did you enjoy your week? Mine has been going kind of crazy, I’ll blame it on the full moon, seeing as I work in Customer Service and our callers have not been in the best of moods this past week. I’m told that I’m the calmest person in the world (at work) but really, I am just a string away from an intense reply to them. I mean seriously I do customer service for Human Resource Support and it’s the top dogs that are making mistakes and then combating our poor customer service reps. I feel a little beat up today and will probably spend my entire weekend hiding under my comforter for protection from all the crazies. Wonder if the kids will go for the idea??? 🙂 (If you’ve been following me, you know I have a very unique sense of humor, I’m totally kidding and venting, but mostly it’s a joke.) (Half English, no need to make any phone calls, I’m okay.)
Now down to business…. Weekend Writing Warriors is the place that we all come together on Sundays and write our hearts out. Over the past few weeks I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone’s snippets. (We only get 8 sentences.) I’ve travelled to Medieval Times, wondered about the goings on of two sisters, seen a husband leave a wife and have even read/witnessed people dropping in courtrooms. (and so much more) You’ve simply got to check out all of the other fabulous writers here: http://www.wewriwa.com/ I love them to death. @Chelle, Charmaine, Tamara, Teresa, Christina, Frank, Chantelle, Lauren, E.P. ?, Elaine, Sue Ann(where are you this week?), Caitlin, Veronica, Cara, Yawatta, Lashell, Nicolette and all the others, shoot, I know I’ve left some out, please forgive me.
Anyhow, last week Yasmin found out that her neighbor saw the blonde that Travis was dating on the side. This week Yasmin has made it out of the building, got in her car and is almost at her mother’s house, when this happens…. Happy reading.

As the officer approached the car, I thought over what I was going to say. I didn’t even look at the officer as I rolled down the window.
“Look I was going to get my license plate sticker next month.” I blurted out. “I have a job interview on Monday and I’m praying that I get the job, lately nothing is going right for me and I know my taillight it not helping the situation, but look at my gas tank, I barely had enough gas to get to my mother’s house.”
The officer stared at me, holding his ticket book in hand, with his pen frozen in the other midair.
“Man that was a lot of talking to do all in one breath wasn’t it?” The officer replied.

Hope you enjoyed it. Please vote for my book, Liliana, in the 2014 Goodreads Choice Awards, I have till November 10th to collect votes, in hopes of making it on to the ballot. You must write in your vote. I am hoping to be nominated into one of these categories: Romance, Debut Author, Young Adult Fiction…I can exchange votes for you in any other category, except fiction because I nominated “The Trouble With Playing Cupid” by Tamara Philip there. Here’s the link, please vote: https://www.goodreads.com/choiceawards/best-fiction-books-2014
Wow, her day is just going from bad to worse! Hopefully the officer will be so confused by her “speech” that he’ll forget why he pulled her over! Enjoying this.
Hope next week goes better at work. Customer service work can be tough! *hugs*

Best wishes with the work situation! Sounds tough….enjoyed the excerpt. I like this character and I can totally understand her blurting all these things out to the policeman. Great 8!

You’ve written a realistic situation. I know because I’ve done the same thing when stopped on the Edens Expressway. I even batted my eyelashes and shed a tear. I did not get a ticket because I wore a ski pin on my jacket and the cop also was a skier. Love the eight. He won’t give her a ticket.
Favor please, Neva. Buy a copy of Help Wanted to boost the climbing sales.2.99, my friend. Your book is next on my list. I’m reading Lauren’s.right now.

Hi, no she’s not going to get a ticket. No problem. I’ll buy a copy on Friday, when I get paid. Completely broke right now. 😦

Oh, such a tough situation. I get why she’s talking so much – trying to plea her case. From the officer’s attitude, I don’t think she’s convinced him. Hope that ticket he’s writing out isn’t too harsh. Lovely snippet and thanks so much for mentioning me. 😀

Hi Franks, no worries, we’re going to find a nice little turn-around for her here. Wanted to send all my regulars a shot out. 🙂 Thanks for noticing. 🙂

I laughed when I read the officer’s description, great snippet. Poor girl is so frustrated and you did such a great job in the dialogue (really monologue, lol). I hope the cop takes pity on her, she needs some kindness.

Lol, Thanks Chelle. Yes, we’re going to find that she did herself in, he pulled her over for using her cell phone while driving, it’s against the law in Illinois. 🙂

I think we’ve all been there — crappy day/week/month, and just praying for a break. Good job

I tried to vote for your book, btw, but the site said that the opening round was closed. The next round starts on November 10. Best of luck. I hope Liliana made it onto the ballot.

Oh, it didn’t make it, but that’s okay, I’m alright with that. Maybe next year. LOL Thank you about my characters also. I can’t wait till you all get to know this police officer better. 😉
