Weekend Writing Warrior post #8sunday

I’m traveling this week, well just a few short miles from home.  Believe it or not I’m writing this from a phone.  I lost a lot of the punctuation and I think my links aren’t working, but I will fix those tomorrow morning as soon as I get home.

Technology is unbelievable.  In Chicago land we are preparing for a snowstorm.   Hopefully it’s not too bad.

Last week we left with Liliana in labor, next we’ll jump ahead I promise.   For now, let’s stop in and see what’s happening.

“It’s a boy!”” The doctor said.

Everyone cheered in excitement, but I felt no joy. I felt like a creature was lying between my legs and couldn’t wait for them to move it. Elena wiped sweat from my forehead as she stood over me smiling. Antonio obstructed my view of her, putting his hideous face over me to get my attention.

“”Don’t you want to see your baby?””Antonio asked.

Great 8! I think once she’s over the pain she’ll be sharing the joy. Hope you don’t get as much snow as they are calling for.

    • Sorry for the late response. We got more snow then expected, it was nuts, caught the flu Sunday and had to work at the 911 center which is three minutes from my house normally-but it was a 30 minute ride home, including reving my car up the hill to get to my garage. 😦 It was bad. Hope it’s nice weather by you.

Wow, I get the feeling the only thing Antonio sees her as is a baby-factory, very impersonal. I really feel for Liliana. Great snippet.

  3. Poor girl, she’s pooped! Everyone just needs to give her a break. Great snippet as usual!

  4. I despise Antonio–and his mom. What a horrible life Liliana is forced to live. Just horrible…

  5. Ugh. Just ugh. I need to make sure I don’t go on a side rant here about men assuming anything about women and their desire to procreate. Or for women to assume anything about other women for that matter.

Very powerful little snippet in such a short time frame! Thanks so much for sharing!

  6. Smething awful is happening in this snippet. My heart aches for her and the innocent newborn who should be treasured. You’ve appealed to all of us , Neva

Her tribulations aren’t over yet, I sense. Poor woman, maybe she can catch her breath later.
